Is this your problem?
Meta is asking some Facebook account owners to confirm their identity before apps connected to their account can send messages again. You are likely affected if you recognize any of these:
A campaign stops on a page with “Stopped — Meta returned a permission error for this page.”
Messages fail on every page connected through the same Facebook account, not just one.
Replies from the Page Interact inbox fail to send.
In Meta, your Facebook account has a yellow Some issues label, with the reason “We’ve restricted automated messaging from apps that you connected because our system detected unusual activity.”
The last one confirms it. Step 1 shows you exactly where to look — checking takes less than a minute.
Why this happens
Meta runs automated checks on accounts that send messages through apps. When its system flags unusual activity on a Facebook account, it blocks automated messaging from every app connected to that account — Page Interact, any other messaging tools you use, and even Meta’s own apps. Until you confirm your identity, none of them can send messages.
Four things are worth knowing before you start:
It is on your Facebook account, not your Page. The restriction sits on the personal Facebook profile you used to connect Page Interact, so every Page connected through that profile stops at once.
It is an automated check, not a ban. Confirming your identity is how Meta lifts it, and most people can do it themselves in a few minutes.
Page Interact cannot lift it for you. Only the account owner can confirm their identity, and only Meta can remove the restriction. Reconnecting, re-syncing or re-sending from Page Interact will not get messages through until this is done.
You are not charged for failed messages. Messages Meta refuses are never deducted from your message balance.
Before you start
A computer. Identity confirmation only works in a desktop web browser on Windows or Mac. The Facebook app on your phone does not offer it.
The Facebook account connected to Page Interact. The restriction is on that person’s account, so they have to do this themselves. Not sure which account it is? The Connect Facebook screen in Page Interact shows its name.
A valid photo ID — a passport, driving licence or national ID card. Meta compares your name, photo and date of birth with your Facebook profile.
A clear photo of that ID, saved on the computer as JPG or PNG. The easiest way is to take it with your phone and send it to your computer — by email, WhatsApp Web, Google Drive or AirDrop. Read the photo requirements in Step 4 before you take it.
The whole process takes about five minutes.

Step 1 — Find the account issue in Meta Business Support Home
On your computer, open Meta Business Support Home and log in with the Facebook account connected to Page Interact.
Scroll down to Recent account issues. Under Outstanding, find your Facebook account — it has a yellow Some issues label — and click View details.

Nothing under Outstanding? Change the date filter from Last 30 days to a longer range, or click View my accounts to see the status of every account you manage.
Step 2 — Check the reason, then click Confirm Identity
This page tells you exactly what Meta restricted. Under Why this happened you should see “We’ve restricted automated messaging from apps that you connected because our system detected unusual activity.”
Below it is every app connected to your account, each marked Unusual activity — You can’t send messages. Page Interact is one of them, next to any other tools you use.
On the right, under What you can do, click Confirm Identity.

If Meta gives a different reason — for example an ad account or a Page that broke its standards — this guide will not fix it. Follow the steps Meta shows under What you can do instead.
Step 3 — Choose the type of ID
Select the ID you have ready — Passport, Driving licence or National ID. Click See all for more options. Then click Next.

Pick the ID whose name matches your Facebook profile most closely. Meta uses it only to check your name, photo and date of birth — it is not shown on your profile, and Meta says it deletes it within 30 days.
Step 4 — Upload a clear photo of your ID
Click choose file on your device (or drag the photo into the box) and select the ID photo you saved.

Before you click Submit, make sure the photo meets Meta’s requirements — a photo that fails them will not be accepted. Click photo requirements on the upload screen to see Meta’s list:

In practice, that means:
All four corners visible. Leave a small gap around the card. Do not crop into its edges.
Flat and straight. Lay the ID on a table and hold your phone directly above it, level with the card — not at an angle.
Sharp, with no glare or shadows. Tap the screen to focus. Turn the flash off and keep lights from reflecting on the card — daylight near a window works well.
A dark background. Meta does not accept white or light backgrounds. Put the ID on a dark table, cloth or notebook cover.
Nothing hidden digitally. Do not blur, crop out or edit any detail — edited photos are rejected. If you want to hide something sensitive, Meta allows covering it physically, with a sticker or tape.
The original ID. Photograph the card itself, not a photocopy or a picture on a screen.
JPG or PNG only. iPhones often save photos as HEIC, which Meta will not accept. Sending the photo to yourself by WhatsApp or email usually converts it to JPG, or set Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible before you take it.
When the photo is added, click Submit.
Step 5 — Review the preview and click OK
Meta shows a preview of your photo. Check that every word and number on the ID is readable and all four corners are inside the frame. If it looks right, click OK.

The preview above is blurred for privacy — yours will be sharp. If yours is blurry or cut off, go back and upload a better photo now. It is quicker than waiting for a rejection.
Step 6 — Look for “We’ve confirmed your identity”
When Meta accepts your ID, a green banner appears at the top of your account page: We’ve confirmed your identity. It says the restriction has been removed and you can send automated messages again from the apps you have connected. The yellow Some issues label is gone.

This can appear within minutes. If Meta needs to review your ID by hand it can take longer — you do not need to submit again. Check back on the same page.
After the restriction is lifted
Check your connection. You usually do not need to reconnect Facebook. If Page Interact shows a reconnect banner, click Reconnect and log in with the same Facebook account.
Send a test message. Reply to a recent conversation from the Page Interact inbox. It should send normally.
Re-send what was missed. Campaign pages that stopped with the permission error are not retried automatically. Create a new campaign to reach the people who did not get your message.
If it still does not work
What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
No issue under Recent account issues | You are logged in to a different Facebook account, or the cause is something else | Log in as the account shown on Page Interact’s Connect Facebook screen and check again. If it is still clear, contact us |
No Confirm Identity button | Meta is asking for a different action on this account | Follow the steps Meta shows under What you can do |
Your ID photo was rejected | The photo failed a requirement — for example a light background, glare or a cut-off corner | Retake it following Step 4 and submit again |
You only have a phone | Identity confirmation only works on a computer | Use any Windows or Mac computer — it does not have to be yours. Log out of Facebook when you finish |
Identity confirmed, but messages still fail | The connection needs refreshing, or the Page has a separate messaging restriction | Reconnect Facebook in Page Interact. If a Page shows a messaging restriction, that is a different issue — contact us |
The restriction comes back later | Meta flagged unusual activity on the account again | Confirm your identity again, then contact us so we can review your sending with you |
Still stuck? Contact our support team with the name of your Facebook account and the campaign that stopped.
